Album, Book & Document Digitisation
Careful, non-destructive digitisation of photo albums, letters, diaries, certificates, recipes, books and other family records. Originals remain intact while pages, photographs, annotations and their context are preserved as clean, organised digital files
Preserve More than the Page
An album holds more than its photographs. The captions, sequence and handwritten notes help explain what you are looking at. A diary preserves someone’s words in their own handwriting. A recipe book might carry decades of additions and adjustments that make it unlike any other copy. Digitisation keeps those details together, so the digital version preserves the character and context of the original.
It also makes the contents easier to use. Share an album without passing it between households, revisit a fragile diary without repeatedly opening it, or keep copies of important documents in more than one place. Pages that once needed careful handling can become accessible for everyday reading, research and sharing.
Breadcrumbs digitises loose and bound material with an approach suited to its construction and condition. Albums are captured page by page, retaining their arrangement and annotations. Individual photographs can also be supplied as separate images, while delicate bindings, adhered photographs and unusual formats are assessed before work begins. You receive organised digital copies and your originals back, with more ways to enjoy the contents while reducing the need to handle them.

Choose How Your Album is Digitised
Page capture preserves an album as it was arranged, including the relationship between photographs, captions and handwritten notes. It is the starting point when you want to revisit the complete album and keep each image connected to its original context. The photo-album prices above are per page, with resolution chosen to suit the detail in the originals and how you want to use the digital copies.
Individual image extraction is useful when you also want separate photographs for sharing, printing or a new photo book. Each photograph is isolated from the page scan and straightened into its own image file. This adds $0.75 per photograph to the page-capture price. The original album stays intact, and nothing is physically removed for this option.
Manual extraction involves a different process: suitable photographs are carefully removed, individually digitised and returned to their original positions. The additional price depends on the selected resolution, as listed above. Suitability is assessed before work begins, especially for fragile, adhesive, magnetic or unusually complex albums. Photographs that cannot be safely removed can remain in place for page capture and digital image extraction instead.
